... to hold an audience as you did takes a real gift.
BBC RADIO LEEDS TALK SHOW HOST
To hear Tracey tell her story is to take a journey through life. An honest life, a life which has taught her and then teaches us about survival, love, achievement and it's a story that makes you cry and then laugh out loud.
It is rare to hear a woman reveal her journey with such candour. It is a rare story. Delivered by a pint sized warrior with an armour plated heart. It's a big heart - honest and real and her story will move you. Meet Tracey Barraclough. You will never forget her.
AUTOBIOGRAPHY FOREWORD BY CHRISTINE TALBOT
ITV PRESENTER ‘CALENDAR’:
I think anyone who meets Tracey Barraclough would remember the moment clearly, as I do. She came onto our news programme Calendar at ITV Yorkshire in Leeds around ten years ago to tell her amazing story and to talk about some fund raising she was planning to do. I was mesmerised by this petite bundle of enthusiasm and dynamism. She had been through so much and her story was emotional and powerful yet, like the little Yorkshire terrier she is, she had taken on these huge challenges with guts, defiance and even humour. We were all in awe as she waved us a cheery goodbye and disappeared like a whirlwind out of the studios after the interview.
Tracey certainly makes an impression wherever she goes and, over the years, our paths were to cross again when I heard her speak with passion and emotion on stage. Her ability to connect with her audience, leaving them gripped, enthralled and wanting more is something to behold. You could hear a pin drop.
When I later was diagnosed with breast cancer myself Tracey contacted me and helped me with her warmth and understanding. She knew exactly what I was dealing with. We are both “take it on and get on with it types” but I was inspired by her ability to grasp control of situations that seem daunting and terrifying and turn them into positives.
Read Tracey’s story and you will also be swept up by the sheer force of her uplifting personality and her energy and passion for making the most of life. You will taken on a journey that will make you laugh and cry, but above all you will want to be like her because she is inspiring and strong, despite, (maybe even because of) all she has overcome. But even more than that, Tracey is warm, down to earth and funny too, she is a breath of fresh air and you will want to get to know her and become a friend as I did.
There is a phrase my family use “Would you want that person alongside you in the trenches? My goodness I promise you, if Tracey Barraclough was alongside you all would be well in the world.
ACTRESS, PRESENTER, VOICE COACH AND FOUNDER OF REDVOICE
Tracey is utterly fantastic!!
Her talk is inspiring, touching and completely captivating from start to finish. She delivers a truly personal story in a professional and engaging manner.
I saw her speaking at the Woman of Achievement Awards and she had the audience (celebrities included) both howling with laughter and moved to tears.
The energy and inspiration she left with the audience is something few speakers can achieve and something that audiences relish.
If you are ever in need of an inspirational speaker, or indeed an inspirational person, contact Tracey immediately!

Tracey spoke at our Business Excellence Club Event before an audience of over 50 Senior Executives. Her unique story of how to confront adversity and to use it as a catalyst to help propel you onto bigger achievements in life was both inspirational and heart-warming. We had great feedback from many who attended.
Book her for your events. You will be inspired.
Thank you ever so much for your contribution yesterday. The feedback from my team has been amazing. Your emotional story has really inspired us.
The people I have spoken to are fully energized and so pleased to have been part of our day. They are truly buoyed and raring to go for it! Your contribution was in no small way a significant part of our day.
I am absolutely delighted with the way the day went, the manner in which everyone contributed and the positive noises I have received back.
Thank you Tracey. All the very best with your next challenges.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER NAT WEST
Tracey, your story is humbling yet inspirational, your honesty refreshing and to be remembered whenever we 'bankers' feel bad about our lot. I look forward to listening to you again. If you are ever Sheffield way let me know.
EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO ANDY CLARKE, PRESIDENT AND CEO ASDA STORES LTD, LEEDS
Just wanted to say how great it was to meet you last week at the PA Hub and how inspirational I found your talk.
It was straight from the heart and I think everyone felt they could really connect with you and what you’ve been through and I think you certainly gave strength to a number of people in that room.
Wishing you all the best in the body building and look forward to reading your book when it’s finished.
DIRECTOR YORVALE ICE-CREAM
‘Silence’ that is just what happened when I heard Tracey speak to a room full of business people, total silence. Everyone listened, completely captivated by this charismatic, courageous lady who inspired one and all with her emotional roller coaster story. Excellently presented, well articulated and truly compelling, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!
MR KEITH WALKER
MANAGING DIRECTOR, HEADLANDS HOUSE PROPERTIES
I would like to sincerely thank you once again for your outstanding speech at the Woman’s Achievement Awards.
You are without doubt among the best I’ve had the pleasure of hearing, with a natural talent in connecting with the audience and making them feel a part of what you have to say.
I personally found your speech outstanding, fast paced and extremely emotional, moving and extraordinarily interesting.
You delivered a first class dialogue extremely informative with clarity, conviction and with powerful passion.
Many of the attendees commented on how they felt that you were “talking with them” rather than “talking to them” throughout your presentation. It was refreshing, inspiring and highly motivating.
We have received nothing but glowing remarks and feedback from everyone in our group who attended the awards.
You are a courageous lady and deserve all the good that comes to you. We wish you well.
JUST TEACHERS RECRUITMENT
Fabulous company day yesterday with the best motivational speaker I've listened to in a long time!! Grabbed a few ideas from Broughton Hall too!!!!!!"
LECTURER WITHIN TEACHING, HEALTH AND CARE AT BRADFORD COLLEGE
Tracey, thank you so much for sharing your story with our students today.
Your Yorkshire warmth and personality shone through and as a result you completely captivated an audience of level 1 to level 3 Further Education students across Early Years and Health and Social Care.
It is very rare in my 10 years of teaching that I see such a mixed audience listening so intently for a lengthy period of time.
The students came into the lecture theatre with a variety of: ‘do I have to come to this’ and ‘what’s this going to be about’ faces, yet within 30 seconds of starting they were entranced. They laughed, cried, sniffed and smiled.
Not once did I see a phone out, not a doodle, nor a whisper to a friend.
The rapturous applause and array of questions at the end proved how much they had listened and enjoyed.
It was funny as we watched the media clip and the sensor lights went out plunging the lecture theatre into darkness, yet still nobody moved until the applause at the end which triggered the lights to re activate into action.
Since the presentation I have heard nothing but positive feedback, your story has both humbled and truly inspired a number of individuals.
I really hope that we can book you again.
RENDEZVOUS HOTEL, KEIGHLEY ROAD, SKIPTON, NORTH YORKSHIRE, BD23 2TA
Once again wanted to say a massive thanks to you for your ‘performance’ yesterday!! You really wowed them, what a delivery you have!! I have had loads of phone calls and emails this morning say what a great day!! My problem will be beating that at the next lunch – not much hope I guess!
Anyway we really do appreciate your efforts on our behalf. Your warmth, humour and northern straight forward talk was just perfect for our audience. One lady phoned to say her friend was currently fighting cancer and was there for the first time yesterday and she found it incredible that you could talk about your experiences.
Another one phoned me – Betty is a long time supporter, lost her daughter who was a committee member and friend of mine, 7 years ago leaving Betty with 5 children and 3 farms to look after! (The Relay was held on Betty’s property this year). She said your positivity put a spring in her step this morning. She is currently looking after a sick husband and said she’d had carers in twice already today when she phoned and she thought what am I complaining about after all that Tracey had gone through!!
So see what affect you had on everybody – fantastic! Also, I am delighted to confirm that the final amount raised was £1749!! Still to come is 10% commission from the ‘bag lady’ so could be nearer £1900!! We have you to thank for bringing them out Tracey!!
So big hugs and grateful thanks.
I was so thrilled to meet you today at our Petal lunch. You are everything and more that your website claims and the testimonials are absolutely spot on. I absolutely know that our supporters were enchanted by you and your story and words of encouragement. I can see why you are in high demand as a motivational speaker but more than that, (and at risk of sounding a bit 'Mills & Boon'), you are exactly the kind of woman that everyone would want as a best friend. Winnie the Pooh said something along the lines of how you can't be miserable when you have a balloon - well Tracey you are the human equivalent of Pooh's balloon. Over lunch and when you were delivering your presentation, it felt as though you were our friend.
Thank you really does feel inadequate to describe to you how grateful we are for you having given your time and your very special talent to us today - and yet all I can keep saying is exactly that. Thank You Thank You Thank You for making everybody's day - I suspect that you have given the gift of strength to a considerable number of men and women in that room currently facing their own personal challenges.
Love and Huge Respect

PA TO REGIONAL DIRECTORS, BUSINESS AND COMMERCIAL BANKING – NAT WEST
I thought your style and delivery was excellent & the opening was fantastic - it definitely made everyone sit up and listen. I have my own "mantra" when challenged or nervous which is ‘I am enough’ which is along the same lines as your belief that you will never have to face more than you can cope with. (It doesn't always work but it helps a bit!!).
THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT
Thank you very much for the excellent presentation you gave to Bishops’ PAs at Bishopthorpe Palace on 21st May.
Please forgive me for taking this long to write but I’ve been waiting for all the feedback to be returned. I’m pleased to say that the audience found your talk very motivating and inspiring.
Thank you for joining us.
RESEARCH ENGAGEMENT MANAGEMENT - (LEEDS) CANCER RESEARCH UK
Please find attached the feedback form from the Cancer Research UK Elland Road Conference – and to be honest it just confirms what we already know – you were the star of the show!!
You’ll see that 80.1% of guests thought that your talk was ‘excellent’ and another 19% thought that it was ‘good’. The remaining 0.9% must be very hard to please.
There’s a couple of nice comments about you too – very well deserved.
You were born to it (speaking), you tell a very compelling story very well and you had the rapt attention of the audience the whole time you were speaking.
Sincere thanks again for doing it.
EXPERIENCED PROPERTY DEVELOPER, INVESTOR AND LANDLORD
Tracey spoke at a Unique Synergy event held at Headingley stadium and gave us an inspiring and uplifting account of her life and experiences. Everyone in attendance warmed to her and was lifted up by her presentation. We were moved but also motivated to place elements of our own lives in perspective and given a fresh sense of determination by this remarkable lady. I would suggest that anyone interested in getting a motivating and energising speaker for their event contact Tracey.
RECRUITMENT CONSULTANT AT AGE UK TRAINING, BRADFORD
Tracey is one of most admirable people I know; she is congruent to her beliefs and makes a huge difference to other people.
Her story is motivational as well as inspiring; she is living proof that anything is possible.
As a speaker she is profound in her approach and can quickly demonstrate how change is possible in everyone. She has a natural flare for engaging with her audience and getting to the heart of the people. I would highly recommend any organisation who is looking for a professional speaker for their event to give Tracey a call.
MRS MERYL ANTROBUS
Tracey is quite simply an inspiration! On a personal level as a friend and on a professional level as a Motivational Speaker and Hypnotherapist, she radiates an infectious positivity and admirable determination to help others overcome adversity, which endears her to everyone whose lives she touches.
Having undergone radical surgery–double mastectomy and hysterectomy–to negate the potentially terminal affect of the BRCA1 genetic mutation she inherited, Tracey is also an Ambassador for Cancer Research UK. She ran the London Marathon, raising funds and awareness, subsequently becoming a national figure of inspiration and support for others similarly affected.
Nominated for Yorkshire Women of Achievement Jane Tomlinson Courage Award in 2010, she then delivered the Keynote Speech in 2011 to a standing ovation of 600 men and women, including celebrities.
Now a sought-after motivational speaker, the responses she evokes from those privileged to hear her remarkable journey are testament to a very special lady indeed.
